WHAT IS FAMILY BASED SERVICES ?

Family Based Mental Health Services are a 32 week service designed to support the development of children and the integrity of the family. The program is comprehensive in scope, incorporating needs-based individual therapy, family therapy, casework services, family support services, and crisis stabilization, provided by a team composed of Mental Health Professionals. Clinician’s with expertise in Trauma Informed Care are also available. Each team maintains a small caseload to ensure the intensity of service and availability to the families that they serve.
The needs of all the members of the family, not just the child identified for service, are actively considered and included as part of the treatment process.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Children and adolescents are eligible when less restrictive services have been unsuccessfully attempted, a step-down from any out of home placement (i.e. residential, inpatient, foster care) is necessary, or an out of home placement is being considered.

Children or adolescents must have MA to be eligible for Family Based Services.

Children or adolescents with a primary psychiatric diagnosis are appropriate for the consideration of services.

Community based resources and supports are accessed to prevent the need for a higher level of care.
