Certified Peer Specialist Program

Penndel Mental Health Center (PMHC) offers a Peer Support Program for consumers who may need a level of support services provided by a certified peer specialist (CPS) to assist in personal domains of socialization, emotional and physical health, work and education.

Our CPS Program is provided by individuals who have a mental health diagnosis and/or substance abuse issues.  A CPS is a person receiving mental health services and is willing to share their experiences of success and growth with their peers.

The Objectives of our CPS Program are to give individuals hope and to support each person in setting and achieving goals in their recovery.  Certified Peer Specialists aim to empower fellow peers to grow and advocate for themselves in the areas of health, education, community involvement, and other aspects of their lives.

Services are delivered one-on-one in the office, home, and community.  There are also group opportunities as a way to further build resources and supports.

How do I get services started?

An individual completes an intake assessment through open access intake (see intake services) and can be referred to the Certified Peer Specialist program, of if an individual is already involved in PMHC services, a team member can submit a referral to the program.
