THE REFERRAL PROCESS

All children being referred for PCIT must come through our intake department.

If the child is already open at Penndel, an internal referral can be completed .

WHAT IS PARENT CHILD INTERACTION THERAPY (PCIT)

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence based treatment for young children with emotional and behavioral disorders that place emphasis on improving the quality of the parent-child relationship and changing parent-child interaction patterns.

PCIT empowers parents to make changes that will lead to a nurturing and secure relationship with their young children

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

PCIT is a treatment modality for children aged 3-7 who present with a primary diagnosis of Disruptive Behavior Disorder and/or Attention Deficit Disorder.

As PCIT is an outpatient, time limited service; families come to the office on a weekly basis for services. These are not community based services.
