CHILD & FAMILY PRIORITY SERVICES include a variety of
treatment services designed for children and adolescents and their families.
Behavioral
Health Rehabilitation Services:
BHRS, formerly known as “WrapAround,” refers to the process of developing
and providing holistic, child-centered and family focused services to children
and adolescents in the least restrictive setting possible.
Behavior Specialist consultation, Mobile Therapy, Therapeutic Staff
Support and Casemanagement services are four of the most often utilized mental
health BHR services. Individualized services are determined based on the specific
needs of the child and/or family, with the input and approval of an interagency
team that consists of all the “key players” in the child’s life, including
family and professionals. BHR
Services are funded through Medical Assistance for Disabled Children.
Family
Based Mental Health Services:
The Family Based Mental Health Services Program is an up-to 32-week
service designed to support the development of children and the integrity of the
family. The program is
comprehensive in scope, incorporating needs-based individual therapy, family
therapy, casework services, family support services, and crisis stabilization,
provided by a team composed of one children’s Mental Health Professional and
one Mental Health Worker. Each team maintains a small caseload to ensure the intensity
of service and availability to the families they serve. The needs of all the members of the family, not just the
child identified for the service, are actively considered and included as part
of the treatment team process.
School
Based Wellness Programs:
Education and consultation services to parents and school personnel, as well as
direct service to students are provided at four school districts in Lower Bucks
County. We have developed and
initiated on-site groups for students that combine skill-building techniques and
insight-oriented group support sessions. School
staff and administration can benefit from training and consultation through
in-service training which focuses on good mental health, strategies for
intervention, identification of at-risk students, cooperative problem solving
with parents and other professionals, and understanding various types of
emotional and behavioral disorders.
Elita
House is a
Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR) Programs specifically designed to
provide a less restrictive and therapeutic alternative for adolescent girls who
have suffered severe abuse in previous living environments. This program
addresses the individual, psychosocial needs of each girl by providing a safe
therapeutic environment so as to initiate the healing process and allow for the
evolution of interpersonal awareness, coping skills and reintegration into the
community.
Student
Assistance Program:
A Student Assistance Program (SAP) casemanager is available to work with the
identified school districts in Lower Bucks County.
The SAP worker assists school personnel in identifying at-risk students
and works in tandem with the SAP workers from the Drug & Alcohol provider
system to intervene with students who have mental health and/or substance abuse
problems.
Children’s
Casemanagement and Family/Community Resource Specialty Services: Additional monitoring and support is available to
children and their families. A
Children’s Administrative Case-manager supports and monitors children placed
in residential institutions and facilities and provides children and their

multi-system families, defined as families where both parents and children are
