Family Based

Family Based Mental Health Services are a 32 week service designed to support the development of children ages 3-21 and the integrity of the family; Family Base is one of the services provided to children and adolescents ages 3-21 through the Division of Child and Family Services. The program is comprehensive in scope, incorporating needs-based individual therapy, family therapy, casework services, family support services, and crisis stabilization, provided by a team of highly skilled clinicians. Clinicians with expertise in Trauma informed Care are also available. Each team maintains a small caseload to ensure the intensity of service and availability to the families they serve.

Children and Adolescents are eligible when less restrictive services have been unsuccessfully attempted, a step-down from any out of home placement  is necessary, or an out of home placement is being considered.

Children or adolescents must have MA to be eligible for Family Based Services. Children or adolescents with a primary psychiatric diagnosis are appropriate for the consideration of services. Community based resources and supports are accessed to prevent the need for a higher level of care.

Referrals for FBS are generated through Magellan Behavioral Health or Penndel Mental Health Center Intake Department.
