BHRS

Behavior Health Rehabilitative Services  (BHRS) previously known as Wrap Around, are one of the services provided to children and adolescents ages 3-21 through the Division of Child and Family Services. Children and adolescents must have MA to be eligible for BHRS services. Children or adolescents with a primary psychiatric diagnosis are eligible to be evaluated by a license psychologist to determine medical necessity for service delivery. BHRS focuses on reducing or replacing problem behaviors with socially acceptable behaviors.  Services are family and child centered and occur in the natural setting of the child and family, i.e. home, school, day care, camp.

Services are guided by a treatment plan that is created by the BHRS team and the family.  The treatment team will assess the needs of each child and their family in order to create the treatment plan.  This plan will provide help and support to the child and family and will include individual and family therapy as needed.   The goal of BHRS is to demonstrate and transfer the skills needed in effective behavior intervention techniques to the caregiver (parents, guardians, and teachers) in order to create more meaningful and productive interactions with the child in all settings.

The BHRS team can be comprised of a Behavior Specialist Consultant, Mobile Therapist and Therapeutic Support Staff.  The team  is recommended/prescribed by a licensed psychologist and are provided based on the child’s level of need.  Our clinicians have expertise in behavioral and emotional issues as well as Trauma Informed Care.

To receive BHRS the family must first go through the intake process.  Our intake process is a drop in procedure; however, when the family calls intake they can request a Saturday morning appointment.
